• Want a review copy of Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume I?

Of course you do! Because it's not coming out until January, and that is way too long to wait for the top-selling erotic anthology of the year.

If you guessed the free copy is in exchange for a review on Amazon, you guessed right. We're talking about honest reviews, of course; if you can't stand the collection, you're free to say so. (Though once you take a look at the author lineup, you'll see how unlikely that is.) You'll get an autographed copy weeks before the book is in stores. Just fill in this form and you'll be set.

Fun fact: I also have a story in the upcoming Best Lesbian Erotica and that story "Grindhouse" - about a burlesque dancer and bondage film star - is set in 1955. My BWE story "Demimonde" goes back even further in time, to 1899. They're both set in New York and they both have grown into novellas and may go beyond that, possibly. I never thought I would be a "historical" writer but who knows why our brains become obsessed with the things they do.

Set in a wintry Gilded Age Manhattan, "Demimonde" is the story of a society widow who meets a charming young con artist at a Spiritualist seance. Was this story inspired by my obsession with Showtime's Penny Dreadful? .... Maybe. It does feature sex in a hansom, which is something I've been hoping to see on the show.

Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume I will have several readings, including a possible January San Francisco reading (which I'll probably be at) and a later Chicago reading, for starters. You'll also be seeing it on the blogosphere, in podcasts and other media. And I will post an excerpt as we get closer.

    Happy reading!
